ABOUT US

The Progressive Christian is an independent religious magazine of commentary, news and reflection. It is published monthly by TPC Publications, Inc., a non-profit charitable organization chartered in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Its predecessor publication, Zion's Herald, founded in 1823, was at the forefront of the 19^th century Social Gospel movement and a pioneering voice for progressive Christianity throughout its distinguished 183-year history.

The Progressive Christian is editorially independent and unrelated to any official body of the church. It therefore enjoys editorial freedom as a responsible voice in the world of mainstream religious journalism. The editor is Cynthia B. Astle, whose work in religious journalism has been recognized nationally and internationally for more than a quarter of a century. Mrs. Astle is based in Dallas, Texas.
