ABOUT US
The Progressive Christian is an independent religious magazine of commentary, news and reflection. It is published monthly by TPC Publications, Inc., a non-profit charitable organization chartered in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Its predecessor publication, Zion's Herald, founded in 1823, was at the forefront of the 19th century Social Gospel movement and a pioneering voice for progressive Christianity throughout its distinguished 183-year history.
The Progressive Christian is editorially independent and unrelated to any official body of the church. It therefore enjoys editorial freedom as a responsible voice in the world of mainstream religious journalism. The publisher and editor is Stephen Swecker, whose work in religious journalism has been recognized nationally for more than a quarter of a century. Mr. Swecker is based in North Berwick, Maine.
